Apple to conduct iPhone 12 online launch event on October 13

Technology giant Apple Inc. has reportedly sent invites for its special online event for October 13 where it is highly anticipated to launch the iPhone 12 series. The invite did not provide any specific details about the possible product launches. The invite includes an image with a series of circles featuring an Apple icon. The tag line for this event is 'Hi, Speed’, which could be a hint towards 5G high speed network, as new models are anticipated to come with 5G connectivity.

Sources cite that the event will take place on 13 October at 10 am PDT. Although the tech giant hasn’t shared any detailed information, rumors convey that the iPhone 12 series lineup would include four models including iPhone 12 mini, iPhone12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. As per leaks, the mini variant will have a 5.4-inch display, while iPhone 12 will come with a 6.1-inch display.

The iPhone 12 series might be costly than in previous years. Although early rumors suggested a price of $699 to $749, later leaks have confirmed that the BOM (Bill of Material) has gone up for these models, and it could start with USD749. This price increase is believed to be due to the addition of 5G support on the phone. Some leaks also suggest that only the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be equipped with faster mmWave 5G technology, while other variants will support the Sub-6GHz 5G technology.

It is also anticipated that the company will not offer charging cable with these iPhones. The tech giant has already started eliminating chargers from its products such as Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 6, and new iPad models. Several leaks also hit that iPhone 12 Pro comes with a LiDAR camera and will not come with 120Hz displays.
