Details of handsets that will be part of the mobile launch of UK Three is expected to be announced in the coming month. UK-based mobile operator, Three, recently announced plans to launch new-generation 5G broadband service in London. The firm will roll out mobile & broadband offerings across 25 towns and cities in the UK, before the end of 2019, cite sources. Reportedly, Three UK is a telecommunication & internet service provider and operates as a subsidiary of CK Hutchinson Holdings. The company plans to start 5G network in collaboration with a London-based home broadband service and plans to join Vodafone & BT'S EE to launch the service in 2019. As per sources close to the matter, investment for the 5G infrastructure is approximately $2.55 billion. The investment includes cloud core network provided by Nokia & network improvement in major British cities. Dave Dyson, Chief Executive, Three UK, was reportedly quoted saying that businesses and consumers require more data and the company has been working on the same for a long period of time to offer best 5G experience. Providing the best end-to-end 5G network experience will be constructive for the company's portfolio. Earlier in May, EE launched 5G services in 6 cities and Vodafone is also planning to launch its 5G service in the coming months. From their 5G launches, both the companies pulled Huawei smartphones after Google's Android support for Huawei smartphones became uncertain with the U.S. moving to block the Chinese firm's access to its technology. The U.S. declared Huawei as a national security risk, a claim that the Chinese company denies. Britain's NSC (National Security Council) also blocked Huawei from all core parts of its upcoming 5G network but gave access to its non-core parts. The final decision is yet to be passed by the government.
