Google, a multinational technology company, is reportedly planning to unveil ‘Sabrina’, a streaming device for Android TV or Chromecast. The device will reportedly become the successor of Chromecast Ultra offered by the company, with added features including a dedicated remote & Android TV software.
Recently, XDA-Developers had shared an image of this upcoming streaming device. It has currently obtained a pre-release version, which uncovers the key specifications and features.
Sources familiar with the matter have stated that the device will get ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) working over the HDMI 2.1. The device will also feature a ‘Game Mode’ to lower a lagging experience while playing various graphic-intensive games. It will also include the Amlogic S905X2 chipset with up to 1.8-GHz, paired with 4GB RAM and ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU.
The new Google Chromecast will support 4K streaming in 60 fps, HDR video playback, Google Assistant button, and Dolby Vision to offer an immersive viewing experience. The device will also feature a ‘star’ button to help users gain access to their favorite apps. However, it is unclear whether the device will have any dedicated Amazon Prime or Netflix button on the remote system. In addition, the device will provide direct connection of various TV shows, games, movies from the users’ phone to the TV.
In terms of the product design, the new Android TV streaming device may be available in various color options such as black, white, and light pink. According to the leaked image, the device has a smooth surface with a texture as that of a sandstone. The remote of the device appears to be in a plain white color, with a few other variants of color to match the Android TV dongle’s design.
The technology giant has not made an official announcement on the launch of the upcoming Android streaming device. However, more details of the device are anticipated in the coming days.
