Hutchison 3 Indonesia & Nokia ink agreement to provide IoT services

Telecommunications conglomerate Nokia has apparently inked a contract with the renowned service provider Hutchison 3 Indonesia (3ID) in a bid to offer IoT coverage to firms spanning Indonesia. Sources familiar with the knowledge of the matter claim that 3ID, along with its enterprise customers spanning numerous sectors, will introduce end-to-end IoT solutions in a highly reliable and affordable manner.
The agreement follows the act of the government of Indonesia to fulfill its vision of becoming a regional technology hub across Southeast Asia by 2020. The nation's "Making Industry 4.0" outlines a roadmap pertaining to major innovations in digital technology, targeted at increasing the productivity of Indonesian businesses. Sources claim that this deal with Nokia will enable 3ID to help build a substantial enterprise business as a new revenue stream.
Also, with this new deal, enterprise customers will have the ability to leverage a single connectivity management platform, IoT command center capabilities available 24X7, and a cloud-centric IoT core network, to manage their IoT devices in real-time. This is also likely to ensure comprehensive service level agreements and agile operations, while simultaneously providing real-time insights, thereby helping enterprise customers manage connectivity as per requirements.
Ankur Bhan, Head, Nokia WING, has been claimed to state that Nokia WING will continue to advance the growth prospects of all the operators who will come to realize the opportunity that IoT brings to acquire new enterprise customers. With this deal, Hutchison 3 Indonesia will now be able to deliver end-to-end solutions for its customers and also solve their IoT related queries quickly, Bhan said, adding that WING ultimately aims to unravel novel enterprise partners and revenue streams for 3ID.
Speaking on the agreement, M. Danny Buldansyah, Vice President Director at 3ID, stated that the Nokia WING service will help the firm unlock the potential of IoT for its enterprise customers. Given that Indonesia aims to evolve as an economic powerhouse across SEA, 3ID's ability to offer IoT to a broad array of industry verticals will ensure that businesses across the country may be able to compete on the international platform, Buldansyah added.
