Intel Corporation has reportedly announced the launch of its 11th generation Core processors that would be used in thin and light laptops. Intel has named the new processors Tiger Lake, declaring that the processors will be available in Core i7, i5, and i3 varieties.
Intel’s 11th generation Core processors are based on the new 10 nm Willow Cove architecture and reportedly succeed the company’s Ice Lake processor family. These new Tiger Lake processors have been equipped with Intel’s new Xe graphics, which assure a tremendous upgrade in graphics performance.
According to Intel, more than 50 new laptops with the latest 11th Gen Core processors will be available in the retail market by this autumn. Major brands launching their new thin and light laptops having the 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors comprise HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Acer. Several of these laptops have been already announced including Asus’ new ZenBooks, Lenovo Slim 9i, Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 5G, and Acer’s updated Swift 5 laptops.
Further, Intel Corporation has reportedly declared that these new Tiger Lake processors will be supporting the new Thunderbolt 4 interface. The new interface will deliver 40Gbit/s of data transfer speeds, support one 8K display or two 4K displays, and offer fast storage speeds of up to 3000 MBs per second.
Intel has also announced the launch of its ‘Intel Evo’, a new version of its Project Athena certification standard. The Intel Evo laptops would last for more than 9 hours on a single charge, cite sources. The new Intel Evo branding will also support fast charging, Thunderbolt 4 interface, and deliver Wi-Fi 6 support.
