Samsung Electronics, a multinational electronics company, is reportedly set to launch its mid-segment, F series smartphone line in India. The company’s upcoming launch of the Galaxy F series aligns with its target to expand its geographical presence in the 2nd largest smartphone market across the globe.
Sources familiar with the matter have stated that the new Galaxy F smartphone lineup is anticipated to have mid to low-end smartphones focusing on high-quality cameras and target millennials & Gen Z customers. The product is expected to be priced at ₹20,000 ($271.16).
As per reliable reports, the 1st smartphone model to be released by Samsung is Galaxy F41, which is likely to come with a triple rear camera setup and have a water-drop notch display. Additionally, the new series launch will improve the company’s positioning in the Indian smartphone market, after the huge success of its Galaxy M series in the country.
The electronics company reportedly held several promotions to boost the sales of Galaxy M31s and Galaxy M51 in India. In the Q2 of 2020, it recorded a 26% share and become the 2nd largest smartphone vendor in the country, following China’s Xiaomi that accounted for a market share of 29%.
Samsung has reportedly stated that its ‘Galaxy M’ series, which was launched in the beginning of 2019, has observed immense sales and become a highly successful franchise. The gross merchandise value (GMV) from the M series is likely to reach $3.5 billion by 2020 end.
With an aim to expand the popularity of the Galaxy M series in India, Samsung has launched M51, which comes with a Snapdragon 730G processor and a 7000mAh battery. The product is priced at ₹24,999 ($338.89) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant is priced at ₹26,999 ($366).
