Sunflare to expand its Chinese facility with equipment from Midsummer

  • The U.S-based solar firm has placed a $7 million order with Midsummer for equipment used in manufacturing thin-film solar cells.

Sunflare Solar (Sunflare), a U.S-based solar panel manufacturing firm, has reportedly announced that it would be expanding its Chinese manufacturing unit with new equipment from Swedish solar energy firm, Midsummer. Reports cite, Sunflare has already placed a new equipment order worth over $7 million with Midsummer. The company would be installing the production equipment at its new solar panel facility in China set to open next year. According to a press release by Midsummer, the company would be commencing the equipment manufacturing operations in January at its facility in Järfälla, a municipality in Stockholm County located in east central Sweden. The CEO of Midsummer AB, Sven Lindström stated that the company is thrilled to receive such a massive production equipment order. The kind of thin-film flexible solar cells the company manufactures for production equipment is witnessing an increased demand across the world due to its flexibility & light weight. Lindström further added that the production equipment are manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner and are extremely simple to install. The CEO of Sunflare, Philip Gao stated that the demand for the company's products in the U.S. has far exceeded expectations, to the point that the company now needs to rapidly expand its production capacity with help from one of its established partner, Midsummer. Gao further added that the company's novel and innovative products have drawn in a significant amount of attention from the industry and Sunflare is keen to deliver innovative solar solutions in applications that are still untapped. As the market continues to witness strong amount of growth Sunflare, along with its extensive product portfolio, is well positioned to carve a significant chunk of the market for itself. According to reports, Midsummer would be delivering the production equipment to Sunflare's new facility in China later next year.
